Terrain

There are a few different options currently available to how your landscape (assuming you have one) is rendered, ranging from the quick-and-easy to the deeper options which require you to do some proper tech-art to achieve something approaching the almost-acceptable.

Walls

Walls can be placed along the edges of your map squares, and can be a useful, quick way of fencing off areas of your world, without having to worry about generating loads of wall models.

The in-game 'World Editor' (F8) can be used to add walls to your landscape.

Welcome Screens

Settings allow you to control what the player first sees when they join your world. Many worlds use an image for their welcome screen - if you can edit a jpg file then you'll probably find that the easiest way of telling new players to your world what they can expect.
Dont forget that players joining your world for the first time will probably have little idea what to expect, so text on your welcome image explaining the basics of your world can be very handy.
